Diversity! The unexpected! Contagious fun! That’s what a Muzyka! concert is all about. Muzyka! performs sing-alongs like I've Been Workin’ on the Railroad, standards such as Shenandoah, spirituals like Wayfaring Stranger, traditional songs such as the Water is Wide, and original tunes including Home Run, Missing You, Trailer Trash, and, yes, Surfin' Saginaw Bay! There are no genre limitations with this group!
The vocal harmonies may evoke images of Peter, Paul and Mary, the banter is in the style of the Smothers Brothers and the interaction with the audience is reminiscent of attending a Pete Seeger concert!
Muzyka! came together as a result of its members' involvement with the Folk Music Society of Midland, and is comprised of Lee Anne Whitman, on guitar and singing lead and harmony vocals, Johnny Hunt, playing the banjo, mandolin, ukulele, and guitar (not all at once, though) and singing the bass/baritone parts,. The multi-talented Hillary Huebler is often on-board to lend her lovely voice and skills on the fiddle, mandolin, and ukulele as well!
